One of Bob's finest. I'm playing it in a couple of weeks at a birthday bash. Jules

That whole album is unfairly overlooked, IMO. Boxes sets? Pshaw.

He actually passed about two weeks ago, but Johnny Allen, pianist and arranger for both Motown and Stax. He shared a Grammy Award with Isaac Hayes for Shaft.

Sean Potts - founder member of the Chieftains.
Died Tuesday and funeral today.
Those early albums seem dated now of course, but incredibly fresh in their day and Potts whistle playing was masterful

RIP Sean. Sad that the Chieftains are becoming so depleted. Jules

I saw something about that the other day in passing, but yes, it is indeed sad that only Paddy is left of the original lineup. RIP Sean.

Must talk to the Mrs. Well to be fair Sean Keane has been there since the 60's, Kevin Conneff since the 70's and Matt Molloy since '79 or so if I recall correctly, so they aren't exactly replacements
