I just learned the great Kenny Wheeler has passed away aged 84. A great loss. I've always loved anything he was invovled in, and he was partly responsible for my entry into the world of jazz. https://www.facebook.com/ecmrecords

How sad, and so young! Back in the day I did rather have a crush on her - those sultry looks and that cute beauty spot..... and I did rather like some of her stuff, despite the waltzing with Stewpot

She was the closest we had to Kate Bush before Kate Bush came along.
RIP Lynsey.

You mean it wasn't Bob Holness? Sad to lose such a talent so relatively young. Other than Baker St. he did some sterling work with Marvin Gaye and sessioned with dozens (hundreds?) of others - probably on the strength of his signature masterpiece.

Sad news of the death of John Holt, most famous possibly for writing the tide is high, or his cover of Help me make it through the night. I was introduced to his music by my wife and admired his ability to put his stamp on whatever song he sang with an honesty of emotion in his delivery.

John Holt recorded some classics, from Ali Baba through to Police In Helicopter. He shall be missed. Jules
