I recall seeing him a few years ago. Very funny man and a talented musician. Very sad

Here's a link to a great BBC Radio programme about Bruce Lacey, pictured here in 2004 onstage at Cropredy.

...sad to read of Bruce Lacy's death...I was only informed of this today by a work colleague who knew that I'd seen him perform in 1982...at the Cropredy Reunion...any one else remember that?

Before my time (my first was 2 years later) but he was on stage at Cropredy (and doing stuff at the top of the field with the children's entertainers) much more recently than that.

I can't remember which year it was but Mr Lacey was at the top of the field, totally naked with a lady friend. He was covered in blue body paint and looked interesting so my wife decided to go and chat to him. She asked him, "Is that woad?" "No," he replied it's Max Factor! Seemed like a good sport and highly eccentric man.

I thought that was one of those most magnificently bonkers things I've ever seen on stage.  Fez
