Thriller songwriter Rod Temperton dies http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-37565125Rod Temperton, the British songwriter best known for Michael Jackson's Thriller and Rock With You, has died.
In a statement, Jon Platt, chairman music publisher Warner/Chappell, said he died in London last week at the age of 66 following "a brief aggressive battle with cancer".
His other songs included Off The Wall, Give Me The Night, Sweet Freedom, Always & Forever and Boogie Nights.
"His family is devastated and request total privacy," Mr Platt said. |

He wrote some of my favourite music. If I need cheering up Boogie Nights does it every time. Thriller will have me singing along and dancing like a zombie. Rock With You was a dancefloor filler in my "disco" days (I miss them!!) RIP Rod x Just found this! Shooglenifty were meant to be headlining the Southdowns Folk Festival which I attended recently, but cancelled due to personal reasons.
I guess we now know why😥

And news just in - Pete Burns, Dead or Alive singer, Celebrity Big Brother contestant and serial plastic surgery consumer. Heart failure at the age of 57.
