Bobby Bragg, Cropredy Compere Extraordinaire, died this morning. Pancreatic cancer took him.

As reported by his son, Matt, on Facebook.

Ric & Vo Fletcher gigged last night, and reminisced on Bobby & his funeral, that took place at Banbury Crem on Friday afternoon. A lot of Britush commedians attended, along with FC & other musicians. Bobby Davro & Harry Hill gave eulogies, and the whole funeral lasted two hours.....his was a suitable send-off...see Vo Fletchers Facebook page for a photo of one of Bobby's last requests. I'll post a link/copy here once I'm near a PC

Writer of Young Mans Blues, made (arguably) most famous by The Who on their Live At Leeds album. RIP.

Both Mose Allison and The Who also had Sonny Boy Williamson's Eyesight To The Blind in their respective repertoires.  Pete Townshend was a huge fan.

Absolutely devastating news just coming through that soul singer Sharon Jones has passed away at age 60 after fighting cancer the last few years. I never met her, but I met some of the Dap-Kings and this one feels like the worst punch in the gut in a year of punches to the gut.

Oh damn. Really? So glad I got to see her live a couple of years back. Had just dug out last year's Christmas album a couple of days ago in preparation for the forthcoming holiday season. RIP Sharon.
