He'd suffered a lot of addiction issues so maybe his body just gave up?

Terribly sad and far too young. Club Tropicana has good memories for me.

RIP George

Not a fan but very sad nevertheless.

Joan Baez recorded an excellent cover of his song Hand To Mouth which revealed to me, as someone who was not fond of George's style of music, just what a fine songwriter he was.

I have notifications set on quite a few topics, but I always tend to shiver a bit when I see a notification for this one (unless there's an ongoing very recent loss). RIP, far too young, whatever the reason.

Another victim falls to 2016... not one of my personal favourites, but nonetheless a flawed but talented individual who undoubtedly brought pleasure to a lot of people.

Very sad. Far too young. At least he died in his own bed in his own home.  I hope l do the same when my time comes (not for several more decades though!). A lamentable end to Xmas day, especially following Rick Parfitt's demise on Saturday.

Very sad. Another star goes out.

The only person ever to sing with Queen and do it as well as Freddie.

Can we just go back a year and go straight to 2017 and miss out on 2016 please.

Joan does some excellent covers.  I wouldn't have heard George Michael but for her cover of 'Hand to Mouth'.

I like "Where do you go to my lovely", I think it is a clever song. I was only watching him on an old TOTPs a couple of days ago.

Saw him and his brother (although, strangely, can't remember which of the two that was) at one of the very early (possibly the first) Guildford Festival.

If I'm honest, although not without merit, his ouvre has never really been my thing and that song just annoys the hell out of me....
