Saddened to hear about the death of Ted McKenna.
I was fortunate enough to meet Ted while in my teens, and attended a couple of his drum clinics where he told the audience tales of how he started playing, warned us about pitfalls of the music biz and demonstrated some of his favourite drumming techniques. I also fondly remember being allowed to have a go on his beautiful natural wood Pearl DLX kit* with Sabian cymbals - probably the finest set of drums I've ever laid my mitts on. Great memories of a great drummer, RIP Ted.

So sad to hear this...I was actually watching an interview with Ted and Zal Cleminson just the other day on Youtube...  Magnificent drummer and a truly great fellow !...  |

Cropredy 2015. One of the most electrifying sets I have ever seen. BoF were a joy to photograph, listen to and watch, and they really 'got' Cropredy.
Such sad news.

"I’m sad to report that Roger Marriott died last Friday in hospital after a relatively short illness. His daughter Kate Marriott told me that “He had been admitted two weeks ago with a chest infection and possible flu which progressed to pneumonia. Sadly, he was unable to fight the infection and just grew weaker. The end was quite peaceful.” Funeral details are still to be confirmed but it may be on 26th February. I’ll try to keep people informed of the arrangements via this thread. Roger, together with his wife Beryl, were incredibly influential figures in the folk revival. Roger had wide interests. Kate has informed family and close friends but doesn’t have appropriate Social media contacts to get the information out to people involved in folk music, so please share this information among friends."

I remember Swarbs birthday and the celidh band and so much more, sad news. The marriotts were there when it mattered and clearly loved what they did and did it so well, inspiring. RIP Roger
