Peter Tork Oh no. So brilliant and so nice when we saw him. I was afraid of this. Mike Nesmith was circumspect when discussing why PT was not out with the Mike and Mickey show, but I figured it couldn't be good. R.I.P.

Peter Tork Oh no. So brilliant and so nice when we saw him. I'll second that. I caught one of his solo shows at the Borderline about 15 years ago and had a chat to him afterwards. He could not have been nicer. What a sad day.

That’s really sad news - criminally underrated, but what a stunning musical legacy.

That’s really sad news - criminally underrated, but what a stunning musical legacy. Really? I don't think I know a single person whose musical opinion I really care for who doesn't rate those late period (at least) TT albums. I played SoE last night and the solo album this morning. They're the kind of albums that make you realise, however much fun they might be, that 90% of the stuff one has in one's collections are entirely superfluous....

Not a musician - but he invented something musicians won't be without.... Ross Lowell, the man who invented gaffer tape has died. Anyone who has ever played live music of any stripe should pause for a minute in homage

Such sad news to wake up to. Weirdly, as far as I can see, it is still not being reported by the BBC and all the other reports seem to be based on a single tweet.
