They covered an obscure songwriter named Richard Thompson with "Don't Let a Thief Steal Into Your Heart" (on the album Priority, 1979), so we know they had exquisite taste in music. RIP
That's very true - I'd forgotten that. Jules Come to think of it, RT makes some reference to this when introducing the song on Small Town Romance. I thought he was joking. The album on which it appears also includes songs by Ian Hunter, Graham Parker, The Rolling Stones, Gerry Rafferty, Bruce Springsteen and Robbie Robertson.

I'd forgotten about the RT cover; I had a vague thought the Pointers covered Andy F-Low's "La Booga Rooga"... I checked, and it was the Surprise Sisters (Aussies).

I saw Paul in Waysted when they supported Iron Maiden in 84. They got the best reception I ever saw for a support band. That was one loud gig. Maiden played at ear-splitting volume.

I still listen to the first Lone Star album pretty regularly. An epic debut.

RIP. I played a shed load of UFO a couple of days ago, although I don't think Paul played on any of it, it was the Schenker stuff. I did see PC play live with the band, they were always good. I'd forgotten he was in Lone Star.

That's sad news... The Wild, the Willing and the Innocent is a terrific LP, possibly overshadowed by the Schenker years UFO, but every bit as good...

I love that first Lone Star album remember Freeman giving them a session when unsigned and then playing the album in full on release on his Saturday Rock Show in the early 70's. RIP.

I saw him play live back in the 80s. It was an unusual experience. At one point he was howlingjinto the piano with the lid up. I have a few records and CD s featuring KT, and they are all great albums.

Southern Rock legend, Charlie Daniels. From a stroke, apparently. He was 83 years old.
He was still releasing great records as eighteen months ago, bless him.

Charlie Daniels wasn't just who most people thought he was. He'd also been a session player, with Dylan, Cohen, and others.
Thanks for all the music, Charlie.

How weird to see those two together in this sad roll call? Time will show the wiser, indeed.
