So sad. He was a really nice guy. I met him a few times (he went out with a friend of mine for a while) and the Strawbs were the first band that I saw live. A note on their Facebook page suggests that he contracted C.19 while already in hospital. This is the vid. that was posted as a memorial to him https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxg6WI32x3o&feature=youtu.be

Strawbs founder, Tony Hooper, aged 77.
Sad news. Loved his contributions to The Strawbs.
A sad loss. IMHO "Brave New World" was by far the Strawbs' finest hour.

This clip was from 2010 but comments on it yesterday confirm sad news. He lived in New Hampshire. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MONWEasSB8

Country singer-songwriter Hal Ketchum, just 67. Dementia, sadly.
Fine singer. A real antidote to the renta-stetson Nashville production line of the 1990s.

Mick Tyas of The Whiskey Priests.
Very sad news, I saw him last year at a very small rain soaked festival where we were all crammed into a tiny gazebo.

Very sad news, I saw him last year at a very small rain soaked festival where we were all crammed into a tiny gazebo. In the 90's we used to travel to Wolverhampton for gigs a lot and the favourite band band of the manager of The Wulfrun (and The Civic) were Oysterband. The supports were nearly always great too - Whiskey Priests / Tansads / Chumbawamba etc. That was where we first saw the Whiskey Priests and followed them a lot after that (ditto Tansads/Merry Hell) , even getting on the guest list. I've bought a lot of stuff from Gary in recent years and only in the last couple of weeks did he announce that The WP would not play again so he must have known something about Mick then. I think I will start working my way through Bloody Well Everything again.

The Moon and The Melodies, The White Arcades, and The Pearl got me through my degree revision. I thought Harold Budd's piano playing was damned near perfect.
So long and thank you Harold, I salute you.

Terrific voice, and apparently was such a good baseball player he almost opted for pursuing that instead. RIP Charley

Shame.
I've only heard a few records that Leslie West had been involved with but I lucky enough to catch him live once and he was both brilliant and personable.
