Ah yes, Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen. A distant echo sounds in my mind of a band seen once, many years ago.
RIP. George Frayne.
They played the Knebworth gigs supporting Led Zeppelin. Not quite true - that was The New Commander Cody Band Beg your puddin'. Memory cells getting...thingy....what's the word ? R.I.P George.

Greg Gilbert of The Delays aged 44 from cancer. Loved their first album. Met him when my sons' band supported them. Nice guy.

Oh that is a shame. When I was about 11 my neighbour gave me a box of singles that had belonged to a DJ friend of his, mostly promo copies of stuff nobody has ever heard of but there were a few gems in there. One of them was Keep It Out Of Sight by Paul and Barry Ryan. Great track which I love to this day. The B side, Who Told You is excellent too.

We saw Pee Wee Ellis with Ginger Baker at the One World Theater a few years ago on Ginger's final spin through the states. That is a very special memory. R.I.P.

Could be. It certainly sounds his style but i don't have the single handy to check. Edit: Just checked on Discogs. Yes it is.

It's all relative. He would have been 64 later this year. Jules

Sad to hear that, he was a top player, as you say. I have a very tenuous connection to him. In 1979, I was working at All Saints Hospital in Birmingham, doing a shortened mental health nursing course (as I was already a registered nurse) and one of the people I worked with was a young lad called David Steel. He was putting a band together and they needed a drummer. I volunteered my services (although I was never a drummer) and he said 'Great, do you have your own kit?' Of course I didn't, so that was that. A few weeks later he announced that they'd found this wonderful drummer who was fitting in nicely. This was Everett and they never looked back. Not long after that David announced he was quitting the course and going into music full time with the band, The Beat. If only I'd had a drum kit!

Rick Jones of Fingerbobs fame, was a memorable part of my childhood as Yoffy in fingerbobs and was in the band Meal Ticket. Sad news, Rest In Peace and thanks for the memories. Thoughts to those who knew him.

Great band, Meal Ticket. Didn't realise it was the same Rick Jones until fairly recently.
