From https://tradfolk.co/news/paul-sartin-tribute-events-and-donations/"Paul passed away only weeks before an autumn tour with his trio, Faustus. While, understandably, many of the tour dates have been cancelled, Saul and Benji have decided that they wish to play together and pay tribute to their friend at a few key dates. These include the Beehive (Sheffield), Ripon and Nettlebed. Most of these have already sold out, however a Live to Your Living Room online event, live from the Cumberland Arms in Newcastle, is planned on October 12th with unlimited tickets." I had a message from Nettlebed (still on their mailing list though too far to go to most gigs now) saying that Paul's son Joe would be playing with them for part of the evening.

Andrea Heukamp, guitarist and vocalist with the original line-up of The House of Love. Sketchy details atm, found dead in her flat in Germany.

Nope - Máire, Pól and Ciarán Brennan, and a couple backing them. Not sure if Noel had been ill. He died suddenly while out with friends on Saturday. Máire had appeared with Mairéad ní Mhaonaigh of Altan on the Late Late Show just a few hours before on Friday night singing a tribute to the Creeslough explosion victims.

The two younger guys playing with them were Maire's kids, Aisling and Paul (I think it is), so still keeping it in the family! The drummer was Ged Lynch. I did find it odd that no mention was made of him, or why he wasn't there.

Prompted me to revisit Live at the Star Club. Surely one of the best live albums and all that you need (with one or two of the later country tracks). Another good example of love the music, but as for the man…

Dan McCafferty of Dunfermline band Nazareth at age 76. A lovely man and a great singer.
From BBC Scotland's Arts Correspondent, Pauline McLean: 'McCafferty co-wrote some of the Dunfermline band’s biggest hits including Broken Down Angel and Bad Bad Boy. He retired from the band in 2013 due till ill health.'

COPD, a nasty, debilitating illness. I loved his version of This Flight Tonight. RIP Dan

Garry Roberts, of the Boomtown Rats. His twin-brother cousins (who both also play guitar) were in my class at school. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-63577744

Sad. I was never the world's biggest fan but I did see them in Peterborough just before Live Aid and they made a good ol' racket. He had a surprisingly distinctive style actually...

Rab Noakes!
This posted by Barbara Dickson on Facebook. Always enjoyed his music but only saw him once live at a poorly attended festival in the town of Cupar back in the 90s. Just down the road from his hometown of St Andrews. "My dear and old friend Rab Noakes has died suddenly in hospital today. I am shocked. We had so much in common - The Everly Brothers, the Flying Burrito Brothers and an enduring love of songs, particularly traditional music. Sleep well, Rab. May you rest in peace. Bx"

Love his songs. Last saw him at Shrewsbury about 4 years ago when he guested with someone, can't for the life of me remember who. Could have been Brooks or Boo not sure
