This escaped my notice - Floyd Sneed, drummer for Three Dog Night, died in January at age 80.

https://www.moderndrummer.com/2023/02/three-dog-night-drummer-floyd-sneed-dies-at-80/

Incredible band at their height, incredible drummer. Mrs. J From A saw them at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas in August of 1972, at the tail end of their commercial peak. The Faces were the opening act. R.I.P. Floyd.

Sad news. The Smiths' album Hatful of Hollow is worth a listen. It's mainly a collection of Radio1 sessions from '83 so you really get to hear Andy's bass playing which at times could be rather hidden under Marr's guitar parts on the studio albums.

Algy Ward best known for his playing on The Damned's Machine Gun Etiquette album before he formed the heavy metal band Tank. That's the second ex-bass player of the Damned to go following on from Bryn Merrick a few years ago.

I once shared a lift with her for six floors back in 1985.  I was completely speechless.

Just read this. What a gal - incredible voice, legs and hair. She went through hell and came out the other side singing. RIP Tina.

I was trying to hold a business meeting in Dublin one Friday afternoon when she was rehearsing in the Rugby Stadium next door for an evening performance, She and her band were so loud we gave up, opened the windows and enjoyed her run-through of the entire set.

Great meeting!

I read long ago that Pete Townshend wanted David Bowie to play The Acid Queen in Tommy.

I’m glad we got Tina Turner instead. I never got to see her in concert. Opportunity missed and now gone forever. RIP
