Nope. They still can't turn sh!t into gold. It was always a stinker of a movie, a few fun scenes notwithstanding. Jules

An hour's worth of extra's would doubtless lure me in a better economic climate. Doubtless will show up on You Tube or local library, the extra bits may even be on You Tube now, though possibly not in polished up form. Will always love John, seeming to speak very much in character, when he says, Careful Paulie, she'll deceive you with her filthy eastern way. Something like that or maybe those precise words. If one likes or loves the Beatles the songs of course are not the problem with any of their movies. And I believe Help to be the top of the heap in that regard. In fact left to pick only one, it is my favorite of their albums, of course referering to the version that only has Beatles tracks on it, not the one we got on Capitol. I recall on my ninth birthday my Father put it to a vote between my friends and I between the then new movie or a University of Illinois football game. Mine was the only vote for the Beatles, maybe I had a fit, not sure, but we did go to see the Beatles.

Well, for one thing, the Indian characters seem increasingly silly and borderline offensive as the years go by. Oh and what passes as a plot is paper thin. It isn't fit to stand side-by-side with A Hard Day's Night, that's for sure. Jules

And...well... its The Beatles isn't it!

That's all true as well. And the house with four doors is, of course, iconic. Plus John lights up the screen several times with his own brand of sarcastic daftness. Jules

Unlikely I shall be adding this to the collection. I already have the video that will never be watched again. And two copies of the DVD (one being an unwanted family chrismas pressie). The LP (original copy), the CD, and the mastered CD. Enough is enough... Even if it is The Beatles.

It will be interesting to see what this is like. The similarly sourced material on the Fairport BBC box for example is interesting in an archival sort of way but does not bear repeated listening for purely pleasurable purposes. I hope we don't end up with a disc of muffled and distorted Beatle performances. That would do their legacy no good at all and if I wanted to hear that I would listen to the Star Club recordings.

Yeah, similar thoughts. But if any group can afford the best engineers to apply the requisite amount of spit and polish, it's the Fabs. Jules

The BBC Beatles Live at The Beeb recordings (Saturday Club etc) are not of a wonderful quality, and thats from the Beebs record vaults. If the new sources are from home reel to reels, I can imagine the quality, even given all the technical wizardry at the Fabs disposal, I'm not holding out a lot of hope.

I'm prepared to forgive a lot of what Macca does (and over the years there's been some proper dross). Maybe this should be a call to him to consider calling it a day. But I'll be sad whenever he does.

Is it not possible to sue Macca for plagiarism? That song is a gruesome distortion of beatles music
