I've Got A Feeling is one of my favourite Fabs tracks.
Let It Be and The Long & Winding Road are undeniably classic songs, even if you've heard them too many times.
Get Back b/w Don't Let Me Down is a first rate Beatles 45. The latter song should definitely have made the album (score one for Let It Be... Naked).
True, John was short on songs (his heroin habit didn't help matters there).
And true, Across The Universe was from February 1968 and really has no business being here. (You could argue the same for I Me Mine, cut in January 1970 without John.)
If only they'd worked up George's All Things Must Pass.
But, no, the album is certainly no "turd". You could argue that Glyn Johns's shelved Get Back album is though. It's a very shoddy piece of work (and I like Glyn Johns as a producer).

Not a lot to splash out this time. A decent article about McCartney in Esquire Magazine... http://www.esquire.co.uk/culture/music/8511/paul-mccartney-interview/

"Their London Estate"? Unless he's moved recently, Ringo has a place in Cranleigh, along with Eric the God. Not really London.

I read that Ritchie and Barbara sold all their european bolt holes and have moved full time to the states. He said that he thought all his memorabilia, now in storage, would be better off sold to good homes. Among them are one of John's old '64 rickenbackers, which he gave to the drummer, expected to fetch £600,000 or thereabouts.

Why on earth has this taken so long? I have been campaigning for this for years. At last. A must. And as it happens, I don't have the 1 compilation on CD so the third disc won't be entirely superfluous. Can't wait. Let It Be DVD next?

Neither have I, though some would argue that it still is! Except, are we to presume that the CD will also be remixed? That makes it more interesting. Let It Be DVD next? Don't hold your breath! Jules

I presume it will at least be stereo mixes of all of the tracks, which I do not have in many cases since the 2009 remasters were released as I went for the Mono box plus stereo White album, Abbey Road & Let It Be. Actually that is not entirely true, I do still have the previous issues of the Red & Blue compilations so I do have stereo mixes, just not remastered stereo mixes. It is a minefield isn't it!

When explaining where Cranleigh is to Brits I usually have to plump for 'Guildford', so I imagine for a Beverly Hills audience 'London' is an even more convenient shorthand.

It's where we, from Ipswich, tell anyone under fifty who doesn't like football we're from when we're on holiday.

I know of Ipswich, i went there once in the 70's. A nil nil draw at portman rd, you may have seen me with Doc's Red Army, we toured much of the country to great acclaim.
