I'm trying to find an interesting Richard Thompson photograph to use for a homemade compilation. Never has a man been the subject of so many dull pictures! I'm after something arty or dramatic, or with a sense of movement to it. Actually the one on his new Electric album would be just the ticket but it's already been used.
So any nominations for an RT pic with a difference please!

How about the one from the book that came with the Free Reed RT compilation? It has that sort of sepia tone to it. The other one I always liked was a shot on the Watching The Dark compilation, of him essentially turned from the camera save for his face, guitar in hand (at least thats the way I remember it!)

were there any stills available from the bbc documentary they showed recently - RT in street hockey gear would be interesting.

I rather like these two.
Young, moody and dramatic in its way or older but imaginatively lit.

Oops, sorry that was a bit big that previous photo. Have tried to reduce it in size a bit. As I said, one of my favourite RT photos with himself having a rather mischievous look on his face or looking like he's trying not to laugh at something.
Makes me think of his songs "When we were boys at school" and "The Boys of Mutton Street". I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall when he and Hugh were reminiscing about their teenage years.

I've noticed something over the years with RT's style of dress - he does like a zip! If they aren't on his trousers, they are on his shirt pockets. Just saying............ Now, tear me apart for mentioning that!
