Yep!...Count me in as well...I love that album, and Peggy, Simon, and DM are staggeringly good !  Struggling with a top 10, but "Mock Tudor", "Rumor and Sigh", "Bright Lights", and "In Concert 1975" would always be in there no matter what ! My favourite and most played though would have to be "Watching The Dark" ...but as it's a compilation (including the Fairport years) it probably doesn't count...  |

I have a tale to tell about that album--I had it before it was released! I got married back in February 1998. Some months before the event, we realised that Fairport were playing Cambridge (where we then lived) on the evening of our wedding day, so we did the obvious thing and bought tickets. I then wrote to Simon to ask if we might have a song dedicated to us that night. I happened to mention, as well, that my intended was a baroque musicologist. Simon wrote back, promising a dedication, provided that his memory held up. In addition, having learnt of my future wife's musical leanings, he enclosed as a wedding present a cassette of Bones of All Men, some time before its release. Not only that, on the night he remembered the dedication: we had Royal Seleccion No. 13 played for us! |
