Interesting isn't it - if we had asked this say 12 - 15 years ago I am pretty sure there would have been a huge shout for Marillion to play. I still think they should.
I agree - Marillion's music really suits being played out in the open air, it's such a big sound! I've voted for Fish in my wishlist as opposed to the current Marillion. I love the current Steve Hogarth-fronted Marillion, all 11 albums and counting of them, and I'd love to go and see them play more often, but IMHO they would bore a Cropredy audience to tears, unless given specific instructions to play the "pre-1990 hits that a general non fan-based audience would want to hear" i.e. Kayleigh, Lavender, Garden Party, Incommunicado, etc... Fish plays all that stuff in his shows, the current Marillion don't always go there... |

For me it's always got to be Great Big Sea (I suggest these guys every year)
and I always have a call for a Jack the Lad reunion ( however the Billy Mitchell Band would be just as good)
Other suggestions from me:
Albion Band, Home Service, Colvin Quarmby, Wolfstone, Runrig,
People I actually know: Duncan McFarlane Band, and the excellent PlumHall,
Not sure about a Thursday headliner but Knopfler sounds good, anybody suggested Travis ?

Madness would be great Thursday headliners.
I vote for the magnificent Merry Hell, and I'd love to see the return of Leatherat, who were superb at the Brasenose this year. New material sounding great, lads!

They certainly bored me to tears when they played the Acoustic Festival about 5 years ago (they didn't play acoustic). I struggled and struggled and ran off after about 15 minutes. Fish was on a couple of years ago and we couldn't even make 10 minutes it was so dreadful. |

Glenn Tilbrook played a couple of years ago solo. I seem to remember a story of lots of jamming after hours at Cropredy after his set. Think that's how Untouchable worked its way onto A Sense Of Occasion. |

Great choice but one straight after the other would be too exhausting - some of us would like a rest between Steve Harley and Fairport! So I hope they find another 1980s vocalist I'm completely indifferent to for the pre-Fairport slot. |
