Thursday night candidates.....move that screen off stage to make room for the massive Stone'enge...oh 'ang on.

And with Harry Shearer (Tap bassist Derek Smalls) being married to Judith Owen, vocalist on such RT albums as The Old Kit Bag and Sweet Warrior, and co-conspirator on 1000 Years Of Popular Music, there's a connection, so it's not the most outlandish suggestion. Saw them at Wembley Arena in 2009 and they were wonderful...

Failing Spinal Tap, there's always The Folksmen  Smiley :

And Shearer is on RT's 'Cabaret of Souls' album - a performance of which would, come to think of it, be another good contender for Cropredy.

He's got loads of strings to his bow - I saw him on Match of the Day last week!  Grin

As Ian Anderson's current show is an interactive type thing, requiring a screen, that's a thought.

Another vote here for George Thorogood.

Much that I love Fay Brotherhood and book them regularly, I'm not sure that they are ready for the main stage.

But, definitely no naff pop bands.

There will be naff pop bands! Romeos daughter, Big Country, Alice Cooper (gets coat  Wink)

No joke, I would actually really like to see Weird Al Yankovic. I've never seen him, and I can see his act going down quite well at Cropredy.

 Cheesy

Seeing Weird Al back in 2004(?) was my very first concert. My dad had me set up to meet him at the local news station beforehand, but he canceled his TV interview the night before. I had prepared several parody ideas for him that my seventh grade mind though were out of this world, so his loss I suppose  Grin

He really is a lot of fun live, though. Incredible energy and I'm sure that if he were to visit Cropredy, he'd prepare something extra special. Maybe a folk polka (folka???) medley or a killer parody of 'Meet On The Ledge' (so many possibilities with that one...)?

Well me too Brij, but there's no harm in putting in a good word for your favourites.  Roll Eyes Tiara

You know this almost prompts the idea of a thread. "Who would cause you never go to Cropredy ever again if they were on the bill?" Or perhaps not...... Lips Sealed
