I could work my way through all 15 pages of suggestions for next years line up or just cut to the chase and list my choices. So here goes:-
Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel (still superb live and with a fiddle player in the band what's not to like ?)
The Blues Band
Graham Parker and the Rumour (BBC 4 documentary showed what brilliant performers they are)
Ocean Colour Scene
Oyster Band (best live band around at the moment)
Mott The Hoople/Ian Hunter (this could be great fun)
Bad Company
Small Engine Repair (they'd fill the Travelling Band/Dunwells slot very well but with more rock'n'roll)
Decameron
Lindisfarne (there's a new Jacka-led version who could be touring next year)
I'm sure there's more but that will do for the time being

While i'm a fan of the muffins im a bit wary of seeing the same bands every couple of years at cropredy. Has joe given up the Courvoisier onstage? Last time i saw him he demolished a couple of bottles during his set and he was not the better for it, and thats why i wouldn't bother with the gravel voiced old lush again |

A local band for me in Coventry called The Fallows.
Check them out they are rather good and I suspect would go down well with a Cropredy crowd.

Got back in from Weyfest around 8:30am today. The Temperance Movement were good also liked Tiny Dragons, and Grizzly and the Grasshoppers, would they go down well at Cropredy, who knows. |

Wasn't he a guest way back in the 80's at Cropredy? Indeed he was. 1985. I love him, but he was a marginal figure, even then. Mostly known because of the Bonzos, Python, Rutland Weekend TV and so on. And, of course, the Rutles, and that earned him a bloody nose, poor sod. He's still very active in the parish, but Cropredy - today? - ooh, I'm not sure.  |

There's still a good solid audience for him out there though, and even when there isn't he knows exactly what to do to win a crowd over. He also has a delightful silliness about him. Perfect for the Digance slot I'd say...

I remember first hearing that one in 'Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl'-- still love it, though I have to say my favorite Innes songs are often Viv Stanshall co-writes (i.e., 'Mr. Apollo,' 'Busted'), though some of his solo-comps are phenomenal too ('Urban Spaceman' may be an obvious choice, but I do love it). I bet he'd go over alright at Cropredy.  |
