I first heard of them on a sampler - El Pea, I think it was - with the brilliant 'Song for Suzie' from their first album

A big favourite song of Mike Scott's (Waterboys).

With vocal arrangements by Jerry Donahue!

The first album was the best for me and I bought the US version because it was a double courtesy of Mr Branson mailorder if I remember

And, before I go to bed - not before time, I hear you say - here's one for all the Half Man Half Biscuit fans out there:

'CND? CND?
We’re not going on after Chas’n'Dave!
I don’t care, I don’t care...

You’re going on after Crispy Ambulance..." '

Chas'n'Dave would appear to be nailed on for Saturday afternoon.

Was it Chas 'n' Dave that recorded the song 'MNAB'?

If Chas n Dave do play, perhaps instead of "Meet on the Ledge" being the final song at 2014 Cropredy the performers plus Willie Thorne, Steve Davis, Jimmy White etc could come on stage for a mass singalong of "Snooker Loopy" or Ossie Ardiles could appear as a guest for a stirling rendition of "Ossie's Dream"..?
