That would be something that would definitely get me to Cropredy. I've never seen them, but I love their music.

Indeed!
Some folk that isn't singer-songwriter or Irish/Celtic would be nice! How about Jim Moray with his band? Surprised that he's never played before.

Yup, spellchecker gave Running instead of Runrig. Given the horrendous memories I have of cross country at school I would never have suggested running in a million years!

Ah that's why at school we were sent out in shorts to write pretentious, anthemic, celtic music. I was in the school's cross country runrig team.

I've just noticed on the Fairport website that the Australian Pink Floyd will headline on Friday
Fantastic - I can't wait
I've been hoping they would play at Cropredy for years

I'd have thought Marillion's main problem at Cropredy will be that their normal audience is a very committed very knowledgeable one. How they'll cope a) in a field and b) with an audience who very largely don't know their product or do, but only what they made 30 years ago aren't aware they don't play most of that any more will be interesting.
Don't think this will be a problem. Saw Marillion at a free festival in Richmond in 2002. They were in a field playing to an audience that only knew Kayleigh, and I still rate it as one of the finest performances I seen from them. I've seen post-Fish Marillion live a number of times, and the most recent gigs were brilliant. I saw them on all the tours for the albums from Season's End onwards. When they were stuck with 'Castle' (I think) they seemed a bit lost and the gigs weren't that great. However, when they went off on their own and started raising money to do their own things, the gigs really picked up again. Marbles was particularly brilliant. They have a lot of big 'anthemic' type rock numbers they can play alongside the more proggy stuff. Their albums are all so different, though!

Tickets purchased. See some of you there. I think its the last time our group of four will attend together after 10 years back to back visits. We are camping again this time rather than having the comfort of a motor home, so its likely to be a bit less comfortable.

Great! We were going anyway but I think booking Oz Pink Floyd is a master stroke! Probably not booking until after Christmas however due to bloody car and a £600 bill! :-(

I thought he'd retired (Again), would make a good Thursday headliner though. I'd be singing along to that!

Only seen Meatloaf once (Knebworth on the Deep Purple gig), he was awful and got booed of stage. Though I do like the music so would be happy to give him another chance.

We saw him about 9 years ago in Cardiff, he puts on a great show and his band and backing singers are superb (or were then). His voice is not as good as it was but he still puts a lot into the performance.
Yes, he would be a very good Thursday headliner.
