The plug for FC's 2016 Wintour date in Worthing  : "This quintessential English folk-rock band gain a new lease of life..."

A new lease of life, eh ? Wonder what that could be ?  Wink

No. The full quote is "This quintessential English folk-rock band gain a new lease of life and a new portfolio of great songs and tunes as every year passes them by. Delivered with supremely professional musicianship yet liberally dosed with humour and anecdotes, their concerts are as much about having a huge party with friends as dipping into their rich musical archives".

So, just marketing.

Perhaps they are trying to beat "Sir B. McKenzie's Daughter's Lament for the 77th Mounted Lancers Retreat from the Straits of Loch Knombe, in the Year of Our Lord 1727, on the Occasion of the Announcement of Her Marriage to the Laird of Kinleakie"
Just saying Wink

Unexpected mention of Fairport on "The Wright Stuff"

In a discussion about Jeremy Corbyn, one of the panelists (Murray Lachlan Young) stated that Corbyn seems a very nice man and looks like he shouLd be in Fairport Convention!

But apparently Chris Leslie doesn't like him http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-33756608, so if Corbyn joins FC, Chris Leslie will be on the way out?

Ah yes - I remember it well - an evening of Theakstons bitter - then kipping in the car in what I thought was a layby, but turned out (in the cold light of dawn) to be the entrance to a water treatment plant. Nice.

I didn't drive in those days & my driver had to get home & couldn't drink. I definitely got the best of the deal. The Old Peculier was particularly nice that day.  Smiley

The programme is my official Cropredy teeshirt now. Four of hitched down from Blackpool pitched two tents near the edge of the field. Halfway through the day there was a big rumpus, as a tree had fallen down on one of our tents. There was a pair of wellies sticking out from the zip-up of the tent. But luckily everyone breathed a sigh of relief when they realised there was no-one attached to them. IIRC there was a tanker of Marston's Pedigree as well.

Fine music, Martston's Pedigree, youthful exuberance and a bit of high tension - who could want more?

Arf, Mrs Q almost did a shirt swap with Swarb for this at Cropredy around 1980. Alas, negotiations broke down at an early stage.  Smiley
