I think to remember hearing, or just dreamed it, that "From Past Archives" was originally a bootleg that was hi-jacked & given an officially sanctioned, if limited, release. The two final tracks are from Cropredy 1984. Here's the track list:
Nottamun Town Meet On The Ledge You're Gonna Need My Help Sir Patrick Spens Tam Lin Reynardine Open The Door Homer Sloth Sickness And Diseases She Moves Through The Fair Like An Old Fashioned Waltz Rising For The Moon Down In The Flood No More Sad Refrains John The Gun Doctor Of Physick )

I thought I might have dreamt it too but I'm sure thats the one. I guess most tracks are available on the Sandy and Fairport BBC sets, but not the Cropredy 1984 tracks. AT2 was obviously 1982, Boot and the Other Boot 86/87? Was nothing officially released from Cropredy 1984? Looks like this is the CD version - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/From_Past_Archives. May have to see if it's available on an internet auction site. Thanks for the replies.

I have just been looking into that very question. The only other track I can find from 1984 is I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight on the Cropredy Capers box. Nothing from 1985 either. I also wonder whether the version of Sloth from the Fillmore in 1970 appears anywhere else?

I have just read the latest Q&A on RT's website which contains the phrase, "I am as baffled as a centipede in a shoe shop!" Marvellous.

I'd like it though...as it was my first Cropredy.

It would be great to have something from then (the t shirt's long gone, I'm afraid, and was a tad on the 'snug' side before its untimely demise!)

Steve Wilson, who did such a magnificent job on Tull's Aqualung, is doing this:
The process will start in September, when XTC are to have the 1992 album Nonsuch reissued by the Ape House imprint in CD/DVD-A and CD/Blu-ray formats. This will have bonus tracks, plus new stereo and surround sound mixes from Steven Wilson.
This of course features DM on Drums. Nice.

Mick Houghton's biography of Sandy is already being listed on Amazon, with a publication date of May 2014: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ive-Always-Kept-Unicorn-Biography/dp/0571278906/They need to sort out the blurb, though. To claim that she was "the first female singer-songwriter to produce a substantial and enduring body of original songs" is absurd.

And, er, 'interesting' to discover that Swarb wasn't interviewed for this one either, eh? I'm looking into that. I suspect Swarb is mistaken and he was interviewed. MH is writing "with the assistance of more than sixty of her friends, fellow musicians and contemporaries" - I can't see him leaving Swarb out of that number. Why can't everyone be nice to each other, just like on Talkawhile?
