That is good news. I saw him a few years back supporting Johnathan Kelly, I think he'll be appreciated by the FC crowd.

Los Lobos star David Hidalgo talks about his love of Richard Thompson and Fairport.

IIRC, Los Lobos played at RT's wedding. Good choice.  Smiley

Never a good sign when you get a mail from Fairport with a reminder about tickets.......with 4 weeks to go.

I disagree, it has been common procedure the last few years. I seem to remember saying this last year as well-if it was a non-stop barrage of notices via email, Facebook and Twitter twice a day I might agree. Strikes me as just normal promotion. Could be a little slow but as has been discussed on here many times before, I suspect the organization has reached the minimum, now they can push for the maximum.

I was glad to have that when it first came out as I had packed up and gone home on the Saturday afternoon, feeling unwell. I always feel somewhat rueful when I wear my '98 T shirt but at least I got to see a large chunk of the Fairport set via the DVD.

Still gets regularly viewed by me. Good song choices and that camera boom thing was good for a few chuckles.

Jules for the filming of the DVD they used one of those special light weight cameras on a special boom operated by some sort of remote that was able to swoop up and over parts of the crowd and the band on stage, or move right in front of the guys. There is one point in it where Ric saw it moving and looks directly at the camera whilst playing, and another time when Simon and Peggy were making funny faces at it. Fairport makes mention of it on the back of the DVD as I gather it was probably not cheap at the time. If that helps explain my comment.

Does he play Spanish guitar on their homage to Barcelona "John Gaudi"?
