So much for that announcement from the stage at Cropredy 2017 then (that some have suggested)...they're just going to go on and on until they drop aren't they?

'Twas I who suggested there might be an announcement - but I was thinking more of personnel changes than the band winding up.

An announcement of 'Fairport, The Next Generation' where the line-up will now comprise Blair Dunlop, Matt Pegg, Zak Hobbs and um, fill in the blanks.  You heard it here first and, most likely - last.

It's been stated on this very forum that they're taking bookings well into 2018.

Interesting to see Fairport in the list as the fifth hardest working band in the UK this yr. I.e , bands who have done most  gigs in individual venues.
Showaddywaddy were first, Searchers fourth.

I missed their show in Manchester due to not knowing it was on. The other time i went to see them, expecting that line up, i was amazed to see DM setting up the drums and witnessed the start of the 9 line up Cheesy

Never heard (of) any, David, but I don't tend to go looking for (ahem)  unofficial recordings.

However, I guess "Bridge work over the river Ash" and "The Gappy Man" might have featured in the set.  Wink

I just want to wish FC and all fans a Very Happy Golden Anniversary Year.  Smiley Already looking forward to Cropredy (shall miss the Union Chapel gig due to being in Italy, but as I always end up paying for 4 tickets for FC to keep the whole family satisfied that is probably just as well ! ).

Picture of Richard Thompson in the promo brochure received today from Butlins don't know if he's playing GBFF 2017 or it's a mistake given his FC background who have already been confirmed?
