I have an original of the Group Disbands poster. I't's also proudly displayed on my Cropredy T-shirts.  I'll try and search out the digital version later, or if no joy I'll photograph it and upload that.

Bob Harris has mentioned that he's putting a radio show together called 'Fairport @ 50" to be aired on Radio 2 immediately after this year's Folk Awards show on April 5. He interviews RT at length on Friday for it

I see Uncut magazine are looking for people to get in touch with them with their questions for Fairport. The closing date is 8th March.

Alison Krauss was on Woman's Hour just today. Not a bad voice.

A very fine voice, although I'm not overly keen on her material.
I'm going to use our word of the week again, it's all a little bit 'twee'.

No it's not, the melody's may be bland but the lyrically some of their lyrics are quite sharp - listen to her duet with Brad Paisley on Whiskey Lullaby ... quite sublime.

What I liked about her was her coolness about collaborating with R Plant. I think she said at the time of Raising Sand that they hit it off because Percy had discovered Ralph Stanley, and she was a big fan. Not because Planty was God, or anything like that.

Yes it is. IMO

I'm taking about her voice not her lyrics.

There's a Facebook feed called "Fairport Convention Band", and today's entry has a link to a Spotify playlist, fair enough.

The photo that comes with it is curious, though. Can anyone shed any light on the identity of the people who aren't RT or Sandy ?

Someone I've asked thinks the guy 1st on the left is Barry Dransfield, I'm guessing Roger Hill and Tom Farnell, possibly Pat Donaldson and Timi Donald, what does everyone think ?

Can't shed any light on the identity, except to say that I can't see why Roger Hill and Tom Farnell would be in a picture with RT and Sandy.  Different eras of FC.

More likely to be from a Sandy concert, I'd think...

That's why I'm thinking it's Pat Donaldson and Timi Donald, who played in Sandy's band with RT around that time. The Facebook feed captions this picture as being FC, and that's clearly not the case...

I'm not sure I've ever seen a photo of Timi Donald, but the guy on the left does look like Barry Dransfield. I seem to remember most shots of Pat Donaldson from this era he usually had a mustache so that means more than likely Barry Dransfield. If it is, I'll add another name into the mix- could the guy on the right possibly be Robin Dransfield? Also not sure I ever saw a photo of him.

Actually, scratch my last post. I just looked up Pat Donaldson 'Images' on Google and an outtake of that same photo is on another site, where it indeed lists them as Pat Donaldson and Timi Donald.

Thanks, Robert, the more I look at it, the more it becomes clear  Smiley
Thanks, too, Will - definitely looks like it was taken at a Sandy concert.
