Any two from the list below for headliners:
Pretenders, Kt Tunstall, Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbot (sp), Deacon Blue, The Mavericks, Lady Antebellum, Mike and the Mechanics, Simple Minds, Alison Moyet, The Beat, Jamie Cullum, Stranglers, Jamie Cullum, Counting Crows, Echo and the Bunnymen,
DW
Apart from The Pretenders, that list represents 15 reasons why we don’t go anymore. Jamie Cullum appearing twice would be torturous. IMHO. Once would be bad enough. Pretenders would be ace. Love Counting Crows records but saw them live and they were dire.

So big I've never heard of them!
That’s hardly their fault. I wasn't suggesting it was, just that maybe they're not really that big so probably not that expensive. To me (to you!), too big and expensive for Cropredy is James Taylor, CSN, The Stones! And, as I always do when someone on TAW mentions a band I've not heard of, I will go and search them out and see what they're like I have the debut Leftfield album, Leftism - it has Open Up with one John Lydon, and the sublime Original with Toni Halliday. You may recognise them. Chic would be great, and would please the 'Oh I know this one' portion of the crowd greatly, as they do the stuff they did for Sister Sledge and all the classy end of the disco spectrum.

I'd like to see, in no particular order, Laurie Anderson, Amanda Palmer, Imogen Heap, Public Service Broadcasting, Batala drummers on the field, Wilko & Pete Townshend. Obviously not all as headliners.

Lol...Is that was a variation on the arguably rather more likely Wilko Johnson & Roger Daltrey?

Someone mentioned Deacon Blue. I really like them, I think they'd make good headliners. And what about the Manic Street Preachers?

The Manics are, surely, financially well well out of Cropredy territory? Even if they weren't I find it almost impossible to imagine them being on the lineup. They just don't do that sort of thing....do they? I'm no fan, and for me, rather sadly, but I'm fairly sure Deacon Blue would fit the "80's artists that one knows more of their songs of than one remembers" trajectory that seems to go down pretty well at Cropredy these days...?

I'd love to see the Manics, though I imagine much of the field would leave ... and it would be politics all the way. They've just done Beautiful Days so it's not completely unfeasible.
More realistically, Eliza Carthy and the Wayward Band would be magnificent. And how about a return for Steve Wickham, the best rock fiddler of them all - either his beautiful solo material or his great NoCrows world music band? Either would fit Cropredy perfectly.

We saw Deacon Blue a few years ago and they were brilliant. They'd go down really well at Cropredy. I'd love to see the Manics but I think there's as much chance of them playing Cropredy as there is Tom Jones, but for different reasons. Whilst we're on Welsh bands, how about Stereophonics?

Man played Cropredy some years ago and I was there and I have no memory of it at all, which is weird because I like Man.

1994. To be fair, I don't seem to be able to remember anyone else who played that afternoon either apart from Too Cool For Shorts who I believe featured Simon Nicol's teenage son.

T shirt found, I never could work out how to upload photos, but that was a really fun year! I can actually remember virtually all the sets, 'Shorts' were lovely lads, and Lindisfarne!
