Man were great that year. Middle aged men in grey suits playing outstanding psychedelic rock. What's not to like?
Just goes to show - I think they are the worst band I have ever see anywhere. But I am aware others love them, but what do I know I love the Divine Comedy

Someone mentioned Deacon Blue. I really like them, I think they'd make good headliners.
Didn't Gareth W work with them? So they've got an intro already. That they haven't featured suggests that they're too costly, I imagine. Or just aren't interested....

Has the Fairport/Merry Hell/IOTA gig at the Fleur de Lys in East Hagbourne nr Didcot been mentioned anywhere? Can't see it if it has. 9 June 2019.... £27.50
I was in there for lunch on Friday. Nice place. Going to be very intimate!

Just spotted on Setlist FM that Fairport played 'You Never Wanted Me', the old Jackson C Frank number in their Belgium gig on October 23rd. Can this be right? Must be fifty years since they last played it. Almost as weird as RT digging up 'Tale in Hard Time' on his current tour.

It's on the BBC boxset and the expanded Heyday CD.

Other than that its the same list as their UK mini tour in October - maybe they had a special request? DW

I've had too many instances lately of buying stuff I've already got because I've forgotten I've even bought it, let alone being aware of the bonus tracks on them. Long gone are the days when I knew what songs were on an album, in the correct order and what the catalogue number was.

Actually, Heyday is a CD I only dug out and played for the 2nd or third time recently, as I tend to favour the vinyl version. I have anumber of unplayed items, and an awful lot that have been played only a handful of times, if that.

From the website:
3 day tickets for Fairport's Cropredy Convention (8-10 August 2019) will be going on sale on Monday 3 December, in time for Christmas!
Full details will be released shortly when we announce some of the fabulous acts booked so far.
As in previous years, the first 1000 orders will receive a Christmas card signed by Fairport themselves. The ideal Christmas present!
More news very soon!

I wonder if anyone can explain this to me.....next years Cropredy Festival is described by the band as 40 years of the Fairport Cropredy Convention. Taking that as correct, why was the 2010 Cropredy Festival described as the 30th anniversary of the Fairport Cropredy Convention (my programme and t shirt confirms this).
Now I know my maths is not at Professorship level but 2010 plus 10 years is 2020 not 2019. Has something gone awry here or am I just misunderstanding something?

Ha ha ha. Excellent stuff. Brought to you by the same people who celebrated the Millennium a year early, no doubt (as I did with Fairport actually)...

Well, strictly speaking Fairports Cropredy Convention has only been running for a few years, prior to that it was the Cropredy Festival and before that Fairport Convention"s Annual Reunion. DW

From the Potted History of the Festival on the FC website:
In 1979 Fairport decided to call it a day and, having opening up for Led Zeppelin at Knebworth in the early afternoon, tore across country in their van to do an outdoor Farewell concert at Peewit Farm on Station Rd in Cropredy.
So next August is undoubtedly the 40th anniversary of that.

So that being said the 30th anniversary logo on my 2010 festival t-shirt is wrong ...oh well
