TMTCH weren't booked for Cropredy after words were exchanged, I was told by a senior member of this board. Which is a shame, but there you go. The Hamsters aren't coming back either.

Do The Hamsters still exist? I enjoyed them at Cropredy. Must have been more than 20 years ago.

I think certain members of TMTCH could be "difficult". I remember them being deeply and offensively unpleasant to and about Tom Robinson at Wickham a few years back. Never had much time for them since.

The Hamsters played their last gig at The Half Moon, Putney in 2012 after 25 years of active service, making a Cropredy re-emergence unlikely...

Just to clarify, the Hamsters last appearance at Cropredy was an obscenity-filled one that led to their being informed that they would not be returning.

The Pearce brothers seemed able to overcome their swearing to get invited back, though.

Wonder why Merry Hell arent at Croppers?

I imagine it's the somewhat strident (and vocalised) political stance.
I’m sure you are right.
The same goes for The Men They Couldn’t Hang.
I was talking to Swill about it a few years back and he said they would love to play Cropredy, but had never been asked. Unfortunately now too late.

Good news!
TMTCH are still a going concern without Stefan Cush.

It won't be the same, obviously. Cush was a force of nature on stage and a wonderfully off kilter songwriter, but I'm glad they're carrying on.

Without that, even though he owns a residence in France, he wouldn't be able to stay for more than 3 months at a time. A sensible move.

From experience of selling CDs in that market, but with no live gigs and limited publicity, I would think 2000 will sell, but relatively slowly.

Probably shows how few people at the gigs visit the website or are on the mailing list.  Probably rely on getting the information about gigs from the venues.

Listened to ‘Canny Capers’ out of OTNH in the mobile listening station today. Awesome work, wish they’d bring it back as part of the repertoire.

Heartily seconded, it's one of the best instrumentals the current FC have produced !

I have just noticed in my FB feed that 12 years ago today the chaps were in Nantes performing as part of the backing band for Anne De Bretagne in the castle courtyard.

I was there too. That was a long, strange night.
