On what planet is Ashley mates with Bob?!
Ask Ashley. He spoke of them being very friendly a few years back at NFFF.

Just googled the dates for Cropredy 2023 and came across a site atthebarrier.com seasoned Cropredy goers Their speculation for who could play in 2023 is: Public Service Broadcasting Neil Young (yes, really!) Steven Wilson Nick Mason & Saucerful of Secrets Big Big Train Robert Plant & Alison Krauss Bob Dylan (mates with Ashley H apparently) Elbow & Richard Hawley double bill Lucinda Williams The Manfreds Andy Fairweather Low They also suggested Wilko Johnson but that boat has sadly sailed Some smaller acts... The Young 'Uns Annie Keating Maz O'Connor The Magpie Arc False Lights Amelia Coburn Rusty Shackle (fairly local to me and a big favourite of my family in Monmouthshire) The Lost Trades Annie Dressner Seth Lakeman again as the Saturday opener I know it's only speculation, but I like it Any or all of these would be amazing. See you at the Cricket Club on the Thursday! I saw Annie Dressner in concert recently, supporting The Trials Of Cato. She was very good. I imagine she'd go down well, if she gets booked.

The idea that Neil makes an appearance at Cropredy is hilarious. Steve Wilson and Percy/Allison probably fit into that category too, although I could see Mr Plant there wearing a Saving Grace hat (although as a festival band - not sure). A few other good suggestion, mind.
Personally, I think Fripp and Toyah are a shoe-in though...that only leaves one more headliner to find.
David I know a quote hardly amounts to being mates, but I also don’t think this quote from Dylan on Ashley’s website insignificant- http:// http://ashleyhutchings.co.uk/

You've just reminded me of how good "A Sailor's Life" was at the Barbican in '09. Featuring Simon, DM, Kellie While on lead vocals, Ashley, and Chris Leslie crossing weapons with RT. Simply epic !

One of the finest things I've ever seen live...truly transcendent music. Dare I say psychedelic? Awesome.

I had not seen this lengthy DM interview before. Hugely illuminating, and quite succinct regarding Angel Delight and so on. He’s also kind about his time with Gerry Conway. https://www.innerviews.org/inner/dave-mattacks

I have the Woodworm issue of The Boot - and the cassettes do look more professionally produced than those in the photos...

To clarify, my question is about the Dirty Linen The Boot (as in the one listed). On The Boot, the Dirty Linen cover is White, the Woodworm one is Brown. I know what the Woodworm cassettes look like, but not the DL ones. These supposedly DL ones look hand made to me, but I might be wrong.

That's the standard Woodworm set I think...anyway the tapes there look exactly the same as my Woodworm The Boot tapes....which is the reason for the question

Full House For Sale from the website from Monday.
Those of you who were at Fairport's Cropredy Convention 2022 will know that we celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of our 1970 LP Full House (albeit two years late thanks to Covid-19 restrictions). The original line-up of Richard Thompson, Simon Nicol, Dave Mattacks, Dave Pegg (with Chris Leslie filling the shoes of the late great Dave Swarbrick) took to the Cropredy stage to perform the whole album.
We recorded the show and the result is a magnificent musical memento of a stunning live performance. If you were in the field that night, this CD will let you relive the occasion; if you couldn’t make it then now’s your chance to savour what you missed.
Titled Full House For Sale, the new album will be available throughout Fairport’s forthcoming Winter Tour (which features Dave Mattacks). However, if you don’t want to wait that long you can pre-order your copy direct from our online store from Monday 9 January. Postal services permitting, delivery will be by the end of the month. (A point worth remembering is buying direct from the online store means we won't have to pay venue sales commission - every little helps.) If you buy online but want your copy autographed just bring the CD to the show and we’ll be delighted to sign it for you.
Running order –
1. Walk Awhile
2. Doctor of Physick
3. Dirty Linen
4. Sloth
5. Sir Patrick Spens
6. Flatback Caper
7. Poor Will and the Hangman
8. Flowers of the Forest
9. Bonus Track - Jenny's Chickens /Mason's Apron

Hence, presumably, why Simon insisted on playing Flowers of the Forest even though they wee perilously close to curfew?

I will buy it out of loyalty to 'old Fairport' but I don't think I've heard anybody say a good word (musically) about the Full House performances...

I will buy it out of loyalty to 'old Fairport' but I don't think I've heard anybody say a good word (musically) about the Full House performances... I am always conflicted about these sorts of things. I listened to the radio broadcast and from what I can recall these performances sounded mostly fine. Flowers was a bit ragged if I remember rightly. But the point is, when am I going to play this? If I want to listen to Full House I will go back to the original. It was a similar thing with the live Babbacombe Lee album. I enjoyed it whan it appeared but what I actually listen to is the original record. The one exception (which has sadly never been offically released) is the Liege & Lief performance from 2007 which I do play from time to time.
