I picked up, for £8, a ey release of Fairport at the Fillmore East in June 1970., on the London Calling label. Tracks 1 to 6 from the 10/06/70 show, 7-13 from the 12/06/70.  Track 1 is just the final verse and chorus of Sloth, but the sound quality of this and the next 5 tracks is not bad at all. However, tracks 7-13 are virtually unlistenable...

4. Tam Lin (Swarb vocals; best track on this CD, imo)
5. Lark medley, stage chat, Sir Pat
6. The last part of Sloth (as above!)

7. Walk Awhile
8. Lark medley (so indistinct that it might as well be LTIA!)
9. Tam Lin
10. Dirty Linen
11. Dr of Physick
12. Sloth
13. "Big Jig" - Mason's Apron etc


Worth 8 quid? No. £4 at most.

In what conceivable way could the song be regarded as a dig at Neil (or anyone else for that matter)?  It's a song from a father to a son, isn't it?

I am in total agreement David- one of my favorite Bob Dylan songs as it happens.
