As the CDs aren't being sold at the festival, but afterwards, there wouldn't/won't be any presentation....

The CDs and memorabilia from David Taylor's estate are being sold at the festival, they will be on sale on the Friends of Fairport stall at the top of the field.. That's the plan..

All money raised from the sale will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust. But I don't think there will be a presentation. At least I don't know of one  Roll Eyes

I guess the stall space isn't sufficient to display all the CDs....but I'm sure there'll be signage & he'll make the list available.

The books & programmes will all be there. First come, first served folks!

That's a shame.

Yes it kind of defeats the object of having everything sold to people at the festival. I will ask Ian about it

He'll be in Banbury by now for the warm-ups, I suspect having left the CDs at home.

Hi,
I can understand that the memorabilia, etc., may complicate selling the normal stuff at the stall, but it's a shame it wouldn't be available to festival goers. Would a list be available during the festival?

RevRed.

I understand the memorabilia will be for sale on the Friends of Fairport stall but the Cds won't, but there will be a list. Which is a shame because then they will require postage and jiffy bags and all that, whereas they could simply have been sold as seen. I really don't understand the thinking behind it, the point was for it all to be sold at the festival. Well....

I have an explanation from Ian -

The official record stall on the field has exclusive rights to sell CDs. Ian has held long discussions with them over this, and while they might well have given Ian one-off permission, there was concern that it would still set a precedent. The Record Stall is the second most expensive concession on the field.

The CDs also take up 6 racks, and finding sufficient space on the stall to allow proper browsing wasn't going to be easy. There will be a readily available list to browse instead, along with the books and programmes. Ian felt this was the best overall solution.

Well that's perfectly sensible. I just wish I'd been told by Ian  Undecided
