Has anyone heard any news about Sproatly Smith?  I was just checking to see if they were playing at Leigh, but their facebook & twitter have not been touched since last year.  Have they just faded away?

I've booked them to play in Leicester (with Heed The Thunder) in November and have heard nothing to the contrary so I assume they're still a going concern.

I do hope they're still going - one of the best new bands of the past ten years IMHO  Smiley

He has two Fb pages both called Sproatly Smith. His personal one (have to be friends with him) is updated regularly. The band one (have to like page) has not been updated since last year.

So both right, just looking at different pages.

Bumped into Kate this evening & although HtT are up & doing & just returned from a tourette of the South West, SS is mainly on hiatus while Willoughby, the Sproatly sprog, is still so young. Ian is apparently working on some Weirdshire stuff, but I'm not sure what that is.

Fear not, they shall return.  Smiley

Just finished listening to it. Especially like the mash up on "Bonny Bunch of Roses"  I'd be interested to know what Louise Holmes might have made of it. Smiley

On top of the recent collection, A Trip of Hares which somebody mentioned a while back (Ian maybe?): https://sproatlysmith.bandcamp.com/album/a-trip-of-hares

there's also a new track today, Beltane Rain: https://sproatlysmith.bandcamp.com/track/beltane-rain

from Hereford's finest.

Great news, thanks David. I swear they were talking about this at least a year ago - I thought I'd dreamt it!  Roll Eyes
