As the Stones celebrated their 50th anniversary topping the bill & this weekend The Who are topping the bill to celebrate their 50th will Fairport be invited likewise in 2017?

Good as it might be, I just don't think they have the 'brand recognition' of those other two acts.

The current line up played there in 2009. So maybe. Not the Pyramid stage, I'll give you that.

Lots of stages at Glastonbury though - and as they played on the first bill there may be a stage somewhere they could headline, The Acoustic Stage would be the obvious choice.

I'm no expert on Fairport so far as I'm only just discovering their music, so a wee bit of help is required...

The famous footage of Fairport playing Dirty Linen (I think) at Glastonbury in '71 - what was the line up at that time?  I can recognise Swarbrick and Mattacks of course but is Pegg playing bass?

I think you'll find Glastonbury 2017 is going to be one of their fallow years.
