OK - here's what they played last night (apologies if I've got some items in the wrong order) as far as I can remember

[/spoiler]

Much tighter set at Warwick Uni compared with last night at the Roses. Bit unsure about the set list to start with but it grows after a second listen and they really nailed it tonight.
To be completely pedantic they opened with East Neuk of Fife before playing into the first song on Paul's list.

Correct! But as that tune didn't get a separate credit on the album (well, not on the cd issue I have!), I just put the title as shown. Good to hear the set is bedding in, though!

Hi Paul,
Why can't I see your spoiler...?
It will be me doing/not doing something!

I'm sorry, my daughter isn't coming out tonight.

So Roger Davies (the support) doesn't join them for MoTL and won't be at Cropredy? This is a departure from past practice. Usually the reward for touring unpaid with Fairport is exposure at Cropredy and CD sales there as well as on tour. Odd.

He joined them tonight in Southport for MOTL (complete with lyrics for him on a prompt sheet on stage  Smiley) but agree about the missing Cropredy point, that seems strange. I said that to Josh at half time and his view was that they have had plenty of solo artists like him on at Cropredy before so maybe its something else? He is a Thursday afternoon act (after the one after fairport acoustic say?)  I feel.

Back from part the second, and what a great night it has been, some new numbers and good banter, and yes Roger did join in for MotL as well as a guest appearance from Anna Ryder, not putting up a setlist as I haven't got a clue about spoiler buttons etc, and I'm doing this on my phone, if you are going to a gig you will not be disappointed, if you haven't got tickets yet, what are you waiting for.... Happy days....ps muted talk from Peggy of a 2017 tour 'stateside' .

That last sentence makes me happy at the prospect!

Ah, that's all clear now!

What I was trying to say Pete, is that I feel a bit hypocritical being on a Fairport site, when their later albums, tours and even, in the last few years, Cropredy performances have had little impact on me.

Me too Andy .
When John Watterson (Fake Thackary) did their support he was on at Edinburgh fringe Cropredy week.
He drove down to play on the Thurs, drove back ,to do a gig  in Edinburgh on the Fri eve and sat midday, then drove back to Cropredy , getting there in time to go on stage for MOTL (and wave in an Eurovision Song Contest manner with his son who also waved. Drink may have been taken)
So I always thought playing Cropredy was important for the support act.
John tells this far better than me on his blog on his website, including the incriminating video.

No Dave i think voices of sanity like ours are needed more than ever as FC sink ever deeper into the morass that they have created over the past 30 years. They have settled for a style that suits some elderly gentlemen, not me though, i got fed up with the perfunctory performances and poor albums.

I think between 75-77 were the final years when I actually got excited/interested at the prospect of a new release.
It's all too safe and bland IMO.
