For fans of obscurities. A 1973 one-sided album with 9 songs, never released and only one acetate copy known to exist, from a then-17 year old English singer called Valda. She never recorded anything further. This is three songs from it, and to me it has shades of an early Sandy Denny... These songs appeared on a 2013 double compilation CD called Cornufolkia, which is not so easy to find now either. https://youtu.be/cA2YuFjUxcQ |

This wonderful video is included on a bonus DVD packaged with the deluxe version of TB I purchased a couple years ago. I will never forget seeing it for the first time on an obscure overnight TV series called "Night Flight" circa 1981. (The same series screened "Rock for Kampuchea" in 1982, and other super cool rock videos before MTV, home video, and Youtube. I think I also saw "The Atomic Cafe" on Night Flight...) |

I often wonder if classical musicians, as performers of 'serious' music, dream of having the chance to wig out and improvise and create stuff, instead of sawing away at the notes they have to play from the paper.
