Ok, I've finally given in and watched all 3 Fripp & Toyah Sunday Lunch videos, and yes, they're absolutely hilarious.
Fripp is in serious danger of losing his reputation as a curmudgeon by consenting to be filmed in this way.   Cheesy

Just looking at Fripp's fingering and wondering whether he's playing these rock classics with his "new standard" guitar tuning or regular EADGBE. Looks like regular tuning, could be wrong. The YouTube comments aren't helpful, as they're concentrating elsewhere.  Wink

His diary (going back decades) has shown us glimpses of this playfulness, as have some of his televised interviews.  He's an interesting balance, isn't he - the 'discipline' still shines through as well, of course.  I'm sure you know, but there's many more of the Sunday lunch vids, although their popularity has increased markedly since Nipplegate, of course  Smiley

Don't think this has been here before...but if it has, no apologies: Quintessence doing their thang in '69.

A good mate of mine (Andy Roberts, LSD/Psychedelic historian 'Albion Dreaming' etc) make s a strong case for them being regarded as the true "British Grateful Dead".  The groove they get into here kind of illustrates his point...

I saw them a few times, most memorably at the Weeley Festival & found them musically excellent, but couldn't take their 'spiritual' b/s.  Smiley
