I didn't know that. I've always felt that Black Velvet sounded very much like 'The Other Side of Life' by the Moody Blues, but then again, a bluesy song is bound to sound like another bluesy song, I suppose.

The Night has Rushed In by Michael Cashmore (w Anohni/ Tibet etc...) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PogeOB7SZFM

It starts as one thing, then becomes something very different, which I always love

Lyrically trite, but then so's much of the Stones oeuvre... It's hard not to raise a bit of a grin at this: Mick and Dave Grohl Eazy Sleazy

Some late but fun footage of the String Band.  They all look a bit wasted to me... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PexStRrI2Ac

Oh, and one more.  Country covers of Crass?  Why, of course, come this way (f word alert - obviously) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jfp85WjHauA

Snigger.  I've got one of Fripp's signed aphorisms... One has to admire their entrepreneurship.  I sat down and had a guestimate at what the pair of them have managed to bring in with signed things and personal greetings and so on...and it is, I'm sure, a LOT of money.  And they're really efficient too...no long waits for anything.  I love hearing Robert sing.  Makes me laugh out loud.

They’re an odd couple. But it seems to work and that’s really all that matters!

They seem to have a lot of fun.  Hats off.  (And considerably more than just hats off in Toyah's case.)

Had the pleasure of playing an on-line music festival 'Gig In The Goil' at the weekend. No audience but the tech crew clapped after our first song which was weird but welcome after over a year of singing at our mobile phones.  This is the Sunday evening portion. We're on from about 1hr 30min and there's a range of other singers/bands on clips and playing live.  First artist is Iona Fyfe who starts with Poor Ditching Boy to provide a wee Fairport link.

Looking at some Martin Carthy on YouTube what with it being his 80th birthday today. Here he is in The Imagined Village with Billy Bragg on lead vocals singing Hard Times of Old England.

If I may quickly blow my own old trumpet, here are some Imagined Village videos I filmed many moons ago at MusicPort Festival...

Well, well, well....the Hoff does The Passenger.  Who expected that?  It's decent (I think).

I just played it twice in a row, and it wasn’t in disbelief. I have definitely heard worse versions the jolly boys being one, and for some reason I thought Rolf Harris may have had a go.
