Enjoyed that, thanks David. Not sure I hear the GW thing that strongly myself though.

A lovely little Dr Strangely Strange 'documentary'...effectively a trailer for the new Radio sessions CD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgdC1co3aigThey genuinely are as lovely in real life as they appear. I sometimes think they might be my favourite band.

Not to everybody's taste I'm sure but for those who like a little NWOBHM in their lives, this is rather fun... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iM2Q_8CPLno

I was lucky to see this lineup of Iron Maiden (New Theatre Oxford) the very same year!...They were superbly accomplished, with bags of energy & fire!... I was very young at the time & realising now I am quite old!

In many ways it's silly music but I'm kind of glad it exists.

Wow, I've learnt a new acronym (well, initialism...) NWOBHM - kind of trips off the tongue and smashes its face on the concrete...

I would've liked to have seen them with Di'Anno but instead my one and only Maiden gig was a few years later on the Powerslave tour. I remember them playing incredibly loud but the sound was very clear. The debut Maiden album is still a NWOBHM classic. I bought their first three albums off a mate who had been a big metal fan but then discovered that most girls didn't like that sort of music.

I bought their first three albums off a mate who had been a big metal fan but then discovered that most girls didn't like that sort of music. Wonderful stuff. Iron Maiden's first 7 albums are their best, afterwards their output is patchy. Moments of greatness mixed with self-referential parody. I've only seen them twice, 1991 and 2008 - am tempted to see them in 2023 just in case it's the last time...

A really good entire concert Youtube of the mighty Bevis Frond at the Lexington the other day. The sound is great although Nick's vocals are a little low in the mix. Still much to enjoy from two of my favourite guitarists (Paul fills in for Gary Moore when Dr Strangely Strange play in Town). Not sure why Adrian Shaw is missing...(Update: I've been told he has serious illness in the family and can't leave home). https://www.youtube.com/watch?fbclid=IwAR29PPlzA4rkp4JF5aDhU88FqHZXHFBuWhBOMjH3SQUAfDhQ9_VlCjaVLW8&v=zj2QOVMQ5vo&feature=youtu.be

As posted by Iain on FB... Don't think I've ever heard this version before but it's lovely. Additionally, it's yet more ammunition on the path to never having to listen to Van again... I'm not quite there yet, but getting closer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4b0eIDwArM

I remember hearing this for the first time on his 'Go For Broke' album. I love every track on it. A little gem
