Well at least this one isn't yet another from 1974/5. I'm ready to pounce.

Simon really took on the business of depping for Richard for a wee while. Played like he was possessed! Jules

I wouldn't have thought that there's many here who don't already possess a copy of this. It's been knocking around for years.

...and a live version of Sir William Gower. Did I imagine that it was resurrected on a Wintour?

That wrongheaded use of an apostrophe in the last sentence spoiled it for me. Jules

Thanks, Al. Official, then. Tenuously official by the looks of things. I shouldn't think it would get past any artist who had the time, money or inclination to get m'learned friends on the case.

Quite. They have a website and aren't hiding what they're doing, but may be doing it without the usual permission etc.

Quite. They have a website and aren't hiding what they're doing, but may be doing it without the usual permission etc. Not so sure about this. The glut of grey area releases that have emerged recently are illegal in the US and exploiting a European copyright loophole. Buy any one of them and you will be unable to find any kind of contact details or address for the issuing label. This is actually a US label, providing full contact details, issuing the album in the US and being completely open about all of it. They also seem to have taken the trouble to remaster the recording and name the individual involved. How much they may have paid for the rights to the recording and what the arrangements are around royalties is another issue but this does not look at all "grey area" to me. I doubt they could afford to be that open about it if they were not prepared for these questions to be asked. Why do we assume this is any less legitimate than something like Before The Moon?
