Who was Spot?

I've just found my 1990 Wintour programme, and there are numerous references to the Peggs having a neighbour called Spot who was an international fashion model. I'd forgotten about Spot - was she actually a "name" model? Or was the whole thing just a joke? Google hasn't helped.

Spot was and is a real person. She is very lovely both outwardly and inwardly
