I've never seen FC play John Barleycorn, not even at the four Cropredys I've been to (2002-04 and 07). I'd previously been led to believe that it was something of a Cropredy staple.

Anybody know when it last got an outing, complete with the note-holding competition at the end?

I recall them singing it a few years ago, I'm guessing 2011 or 12

A week last Thursday - in the acoustic set. "Spot the non-smokers" said Peggy after Simon & Chris out-lasted him.

I beat them all one year to my great delight...but then I hadn't sung any of the preceding notes so it was a bit of a cheat.
