While they're not "bad" songs as such, I really don't enjoy much of the band's Excalibur pieces; however, my least favourite FC song has to be "London River"... what were they thinking of?

No No sorry I won't have it... I'll allow you to say its twee... but not that its awful!

Remember when Skirky James and band - Songs From the Blue House -recorded it for Cancer Research UK?  No its a great song and not awful!

Oh Rob. We have found the point where we disagree. Not really a Fairport song I'll grant you but I like it none the less. Closer to some of what RT was doing at the time, albeit not in his league. Catchy as hell though (despite the mysogyny).

I think we have disagreed before. I'll grant you the rockier aspect of it but I guess for me what you say is the reason why-not really a Fairport song IMHO

Travelling By Steam

What is it with people not liking this song?  It was one of my candidates for a favourite song by a non-member!

Same for me!!!

If I had an issue with the song it would be that it is a bit cliched, personally it always puts a smile on my face but I like Huw and Tony's arrangement. I must listen to that album I haven't listen to it in ages.

And a great bass line. In fact I think its one of the better tracks from a lacklustre album.

Night Time Girl is particularly awful.

Jules

I agree and particularly because it interrupts the flow of the album. Maybe if it was on Rosie alongside Hungarian Rhapsody or Me With You it wouldn't seem quite so bad?
