(And, for the avoidance of doubt, I am here!)

Where else would you be?

Jules

Oh, I've been in lots of other places.

hmmm - he isn't.

We've been lucky....he's been charging the us$ equivalent for a long time in the USA, and getting it. A recent change of management has seen this, and chosen to try here too. unfortunately for us, a lot of pax are buying at that level, so unsure that it'll revert to previous UK prices anytime soon. But £25?hour is a lot....

All the time people are crazy enough to pay that kind of money for a ticket, artists will happily continue to ask for it.

I've got him booked for a private house party - only £20k!  Grin

I think you have to blame the venue too.  Prices at places close to London are considerably cheaper (£27-£39 – Guildford, Basingstoke, etc.).  Cadogan Hall did have a few ‘cheaper’ seats @ £35, but not many!

I was thinking about going to see him at Saffron Walden. It's almost sold out and the only seats remaining are near the back of the stalls for £42 or restricted view for £36. I decided that I wasn't that bothered about seeing him, especially as he seems to have been making the same album over and over for the last 10 years.

No Chris I'm not serious, but I could stretch to £20.
I'd throw in a fish and chip supper too if he'd consider that.

The US version of the new cd release appears to be a double CD but the UK version is only a single CD. Does anyone know if there will be a UK double CD?

Doesn't the US version include Acoustic Rarities 2 as the second disc?

Judging by the track on this month's Uncut sampler, Acoustic 2, a man going through the motions ... sad but true.

Chris, yes I think it does. What I meant to say was will the rarities 2 CD be available in the UK?

It was suggested on his Pledge page that AR2 was for pledgers only. I was miffed then to see it added to the US public sale. I don't know is the answer, but my Pledge copy is awaited.

According to a tweet from Proper Records the Acoustic Rarities CD will be on sale in the UK. It's due to be announced shortly and be on sale in October.

Listening to the download now. If you enjoyed Volume I, you'll enjoy Volume II.
Perfectly good performances, nothing to fault, nothing here to supplant the original versions, etc.
The real meat, however, is the Acoustic Rarities compilation - fine versions of Poor Will and Sloth.

They still have some £35 ones and also some "restricted view" ones at £25 for the Monday gig. Seeing him at Cropredy made me realise I was being stupid not to see him so my "running away fund" has been raided for a £25 restricted view. We will see (or not) how restricted it is.
