Looked but thought £23 was more than a bit steep. Decided to pick up a copy of Big Pink instead at £13, marked down from £29.

Didn't know about this. Mind you, I bought a reissue of Unhalfbricking (Universal LP) a couple of years back, and it's very good.

That's what I though, but this title has had a funny ol' history. Jules

Looks interesting, but similar (though longer) to Faithless so I'd be interested to know whether people think it is worth getting if one already has the other. It is a favourite period of mine - that's when I first saw him live, around that time, with that band.

You don't want "Tiger's Eye" swirl vinyl, then? Are you mad? As it's not being released on cassette it'll be the 2 cd set for me too....

Assuming the 2CD contains the Woodstock performance it will be worth it just for that. I listened to it over Woodstock weekend on the radio broadcast of the festival and have been hoping for a stand alone release. Now if they can do something similar for CSNY, maybe with a 50th anniversary Deja Vu box. As usual at this time of year there seem to be a glut of interesting reissues on the way. I have already goy my eye on: Arthur - The Kinks Psurroundabout Ride (The Complete Studio Recordings) - The Dukes of Stratosphear (XTC) Cosmic Partners - Michael Nesmith & Red Rhodes

The Abbey Road remixes aren't that special to my poor hearing. The studio demo of "Come and Get It" was already released on Anthology but I haven't compared the two. Great to hear, nonetheless. As for the "take 27" madness, never understood the need to hear unreleased versions unless they off something totally different.
Cash Cow for Giles Martin, I reckon. Oh, and for Paul, Ringo and John and George's families.

None of whom need it. The record company on the other hand... My copy has not arrived yet so I haven't heard it. I have always maintained that Abbey Road was not in need of a remix. Like you my hearing is not great but I am looking forward to things like the separation of the guitars on The End into different channels. Similarly with the harmonies on Here Comes The Sun (nice promo video on YouTube by the way) the full I Want You with Billy Preston's organ solo and The Long One as originally envisaged. None of this replaces the original and much of it I may not go back to twice but if there is one thing as revelatory as the long take of Revolution from the White Album box it will be worth it.
