I’m beginning to get a little concerned about the Horslips set which had already been delayed by 6 months. 2 days before the new date of dispatch, I have received a message from Burning Shed stating there has been a further delay until January, or more likely February! This will be almost a year since payment was made. A nice little earner for the cm as they rake in the interest!
0.01per cent is hardly raking it!! Ask them to send the Al Stewart box instead. Much better.

Err…. as the Horslips set has not seen the light of day, I’m not sure how you can tell the Al Stewart set is better. I actually hold both acts in very high esteem, but I began to lose interest in Mr Stewart when he entered the saxophone years!

Just picked up Robert Plant's 2006 Rhino box set entitled "Nine Lives" at a bargain price.
I was completely unaware of this set until today.
This consists of 9 reissued CDs:
Pictures at Eleven (1982) The Principle of Moments (1983) The Honeydrippers: Volume One (1984) Shaken 'n' Stirred (1985) Now and Zen (1988) Manic Nirvana (1990) Fate of Nations (1993) Dreamland (2002) Mighty ReArranger (2005)
and a DVD, which is unfortunately missing from my set.
I'm looking forward to listening to them over the next few days.

I think that Al Stewart's most recent five solo albums might just be his most consistently strong run. Barely any sax on any of them, you'll be pleased to know.

I can live without the Honeydrippers but otherwise there's some great albums in there. I first saw him on the Principle of Moments tour...and every single one of those albums has some magnificent material on it. Not just musically, for me he is by far the finest of all Rock Gods.

Yes it is very disappointing. I ordered it as a retirement present for myself. Then it became a Christmas present for myself. Now it will be a birthday present for myself. After that I am out of significant days to justify it!

This has arrived quicker than I expected. Holland is my favourite Beach Boys album. **** the expense (and being the Beach Boys it will be ludicrously priced) - I'm in It is indeed ludicrously priced. One more disc than the Feel Flows box but more than £50 dearer at the moment. Id love to but as with the Revolver box (which really is a scandal) I am just going to have to say no this time. Holland is fantastic, one of my favourite albums. I never liked So Touch much. I have original vinyl issues of them both. I'm not fussed about the big box, I have the whole lot on Apple music if want to listen to all the out-takes (I don't ), but might wait until the double LP is in the sale. I think I got the Feel Flows double LP for around 11 pounds! Having said that, they made a complete mess of that.

Not exactly a reissue, but live BBC material from Gabriel era Genesis early next year.

The promised 5 CD BBC box is still very much forthcoming. The double CD listed on Burning Shed is decidedly dodgy.

Grey market release exploiting the 50 year copyright limit on broadcast material. Almost certainly a copy of existing bootleg material.

Unfortunately not exclusively Gabriel era is my understanding, there isn't enough BBC material from that period to justify 5 CDs, no more than three by my reckoning.

If you're a Beatles fan and didn't buy the remixed "Revolver" this year, perhaps at this late stage you can convince a desperate partner that you *need* this album. It is a sonic revelation.

How so? Jules They split the album by adding bonus tracks at the end of side A.

Grey market release exploiting the 50 year copyright limit on broadcast material. Almost certainly a copy of existing bootleg material. It's being released by Audio Vaults, who specialise in these recordings. Some of their releases have been nice - the recent Karma Man 1965-1969 set of early Bowie recordings, for example, but they're often overtaken by official releases, as seems to be likely with this Genesis set.

Grey market release exploiting the 50 year copyright limit on broadcast material. Almost certainly a copy of existing bootleg material. Tony Banks has been involved in it. Not much Gabriel stuff, as mentioned. Chances are most rabid Genesis fans already have most of it.
