Heavy Horses 40th Anniversary edition came out about 6 years ago, so this is presumably a reissue?

They've done them all in smaller matching fat DVD set shaped boxes. They look pretty handsome.

Phil Aston of Now Spinning Magazine on YouTube has posted a video stating that Stand Up, Passion Play and War Child are being re-pressed.
He doesn't mention Heavy Horses but - grab 'em now 'cos forty quid is better than £300.

The Sandy Denny home recordings as a 2CD book package, on Earth Records in September.

A limited 2LP on Record Store Day last year then- oops a general release later.

I suppose the CD version is for people who want the format.

All up on Burning Shed now including a package deal for the four. Heavy Horses is included.

Just leaved Too Old To Rock n Roll as an unwanted gap in my collection.

I will have the same gap.
Except it's not a gap, because that shelf will be full.
Time to play boxed set Tetris.
Again.

Thanks for the tip-off about the Tull box sets.
I slept on these when they first came out so very pleased to get at a realistic price.
Will be interesting to see how this effects selling price for the first press boxes on the marketplace.

It's already happened with the earlier reissues...it's decimated them.  Although, strangely, some persist in asking the 'old' prices, they'll never sell them at that.

Misposted this  somewhat, as its in the 'Upcoming  releases of interest ' thread.

Cleopatra Records and Easy Action  have the rights  to a very large  chunk of Melanie Safka's  back catalogue  and it's appearing  great speed.

Fairport  :   Babbacombe Lee,   Angel  Delight,  Full House .

All upcoming releases on vinyl.

I'm not overly excited as they will probably be from Universal, and be no better than average. However it's an opportunity for me to buy Angel Delight, which I don't have on vinyl , and which is a sterling  early Fairport record.

I think I've found all these second hand for less than a tenner each.

I notice Genesis's back catalogue was reissued (Again). I don't see much shortage of their stuff in second hand shops.

Some people just like new stuff-  i love a pristine new record. All the luck and respect in the world to folks who can find used copies.  Reissues also remind me that it does indeed ' all come round again'.   Smiley

There's an ecological argument to be made here as well (not that any consumption of music comes without a fair chunk of carbon being chucked out there).

There is indeed. And of course there's the argument that purchasing new or reissued music new, in a physical form, ensures the artist gets a few coppers at least.

I'd love to ask Simon just how much he sees out of these reissues... Wink Grin  But, yes, definitely.
