Fairport  :   Babbacombe Lee,   Angel  Delight,  Full House .

All upcoming releases on vinyl.

I'm not overly excited as they will probably be from Universal, and be no better than average. However it's an opportunity for me to buy Angel Delight, which I don't have on vinyl , and which is a sterling  early Fairport record.

Yes, I get that. Some of the 2nd hand stuff I've bought plays pretty poorly, and also smells.
I've had to remove stuff from Oxfam Coventry from my collection as the smell of 1970s pub they come with was spreading and infecting everything else.

I think I've found all these second hand for less than a tenner each.

I notice Genesis's back catalogue was reissued (Again). I don't see much shortage of their stuff in second hand shops.

Some people just like new stuff-  i love a pristine new record. All the luck and respect in the world to folks who can find used copies.  Reissues also remind me that it does indeed ' all come round again'.   Smiley

Cherry Red are releasing a new 5CD box of Iain Matthews' first three solo albums: https://www.cherryred.co.uk/iain-matthews-thro-my-eyes-vertigo-years-1970-1974-5cd-box-set, with lots of live and session tracks added in.  Looks good, especially as I only have the first one (If You Saw Thro' My Eyes).

Brilliant albums they are too, but the set is a tad expensive compared to the previous one. Christmas list I think.

The RT live stuff from '71 makes this pretty essential I imagine...

The Pentangle albums box set gets a 14-LP release... I mean any vinyl head that doesn't have these albums already needs a good slap so...who knows? But, personally, I'm quite happy with the CDs (which can be picked up for £45 or so)...

David i was just struggling  with a link  to post this myself so thanks.

I'm going to have to.think very hard about this one.  I mean, i have copies of nearly all Pentangle on vinyl , all but one purchased new.

So unless there's some superhuman mastering effort going on  involving the original tapes....

Hmm, a standalone vinyl reissue if Solomon's Seal might do.

And from the picture the records  are variously coloured  vinyl, which I'm a little tired of.

Colin Harper has commented on the sources probably used, over on the Hoffman forum-  the box doesn't interest me much now.
