Mostly thisi I'm afraid. Consummate musicianship, but like a night at the conservatoire rather than a festival field

Not my cup of tea and the bass was definetly too loud. Same for Quill. Says something when the quitar solos are drowned out by the drum and bads!

When in "Big Band" mode with Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin I really enjoyed it, with the different global musical influences; when not, less so.

One of the highlights for me. A lot of varied, interesting and entertaining tracks. Top musicianship and Peter Knight really is right up there with the very best.
I have seen them as a trio and thought they were good, but a bit technical. Expanding to a 'big band' seems to have added a lighter touch.

I loved them, one of the best of the weekend for me.
I think Philip Henry and Hannah Martin would be a great booking as a duo, as well.

After all the praise on here, I had really been looking forward to them but the first half of the set was a bit so what? Great musicianship, but little to name with. Then it all seemed to click - probably when they did their separate pieces - and the second half was much better. Will certainly want to see them again in different surroundings.

They're a great band that we know and love, but I think they're more suited to a smaller venue. Not tiny, but just not this big an audience.

I'll lump this in with my thoughts on Divine Comedy Musically excellent but maybe just a bit too clever and lacking any real connection with the audience.

Although we have seen Pete Knight many times performing with Steeleye Span and FoF, this was the first time we'd seen Gigspanner. Excellent musicianship and a pleasing set of tunes. We thought the inclusion of Hannah Martin and Phil Henry in the ensemble really worked well. We bought the Gigspanner Big Band CD - nuff said.

Great musicianship from a fine bunch of musicians. I think Phil Henry's multitasking, beat boxing and playing the harmonica is great!
As a front person HM is engaging and endearing and very eloquent, really enjoyed when they performed as a duo, but for me, the whole band experience was stunning.

Odd, good in parts, self indulgent in others. Pleasant enough in the background to wash over you in the sunshine.

Outside RT & FC, the best of the fest, for me. Simply superb.
And the audience must have thought the same way, as they came third in the CD sales stakes to those two, too.

Excellent musicianship, but unfortunately a bit lost on the large stage. I think they are much better in a small venue.
